Artists Protest IKEA in Germany

Artists in Hamburg, Germany staged a “work in” protest at IKEA.  Protesting their displacement by the Swedish giant and their use by the city as an amenity to attract the “international knowledge worker” these artists staged a peaceful and creative protest.  Even better was the peaceful and benevolent response from IKEA who apparently offered them [...]

U2 Effect on Cities

On the weekend of July 24, 2009, we traveled to Dublin, Ireland to see U2 on their latest tour.  The energy and excitement in the city was palpable and the numbers of international visitors that we saw was amazing.  This got me thinking about the positive impact they were having upon that city.

Creative Cities Summit 2.0
